History

Michael McCormack emigrated from Kells, County Meath, Ireland, in 1996, quickly establishing himself as a talented, trusted, and personable contractor who goes the extra mile to ensure his clients get the results they expect. Many of his clients have known Michael for years, hiring him again and again for additional projects. Most of his new clients find him via word of mouth from trusted friends and neighbors.

By building strong relationships, Michael has traveled as far as Nantucket and Norway to work on his clients’ homes.

Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in Education in 1988 from St. Patrick’s College Of Education, part of Dublin City University. He taught elementary school for eight years in Ashbourne, County Meath, where he also managed the school’s sports programs and school magazine and was the school’s Teacher’s Union Representative.

Michael visited Boston for the first time during the summer of 1994 to watch Ireland participate in the FIFA Soccer World Cup. He funded his trip through painting and construction work. Michael honed his construction skills for several summers in Boston, earning his Construction Supervisors License and Home Improvement Contractor certification. In 1996, he took a sabbatical from teaching to grow his construction and property management business. His company, KellsCraft Construction, is founded on the principles of superior preparation work, quality craftsmanship, and a client-centered service approach.

Today, Michael lives with his family in Melrose, Massachusetts, where he cares for their 120-year-old Victorian while still finding time to coach his sons’ soccer teams.
